This is a healing surgical wound of Coco, a senior female mixed dog who had recently developed breast cancer. The cancer started as a small lump close to one of her teats which later bruised to form an open and infected wound.
Luckily, we managed to perform a successful surgical operation to extract the cancer. Her surgical wound is now healing so perfectly and her general wellbeing is more promising.
Breast cancers a.k.a Mammary Tumors, are common conditions in intact senior female dogs, especially those that have a history of contraceptive medications. The solution is surgical intervention. Spaying your dog by your veterinarian also greatly lowers the chances of mammary tumor development.
